I found these bat flowers just in time for Halloween. These amazing tropical flowers can grow up to 12 inches across and produce a cluster of tiny 'bats'. It can be grown outside year round in US plant hardiness zones 10 and above, but makes a delightful houseplant for cooler regions. Try growing the bat flower (Tacca chantrieri) this year for next year's Halloween display. For directions on planting and growing them from seeds, visit my article Holy Batman! Check Out These Bat Flowers, but don't put it off too long. The plants bloom approximately 10 to 12 months after you start them.
Until Next Time . . . HAPPY GARDENING!
