I found this delightful little wildflower at the back of my veggie garden this spring. I had no idea what it was until I did a little research.
This native wildflower apparently prefers poor, gravelly soil with a pH below 6.8 and likes to grow in partial shade. While the soil it is growing in now is gravelly, it isn't acidic, and the location certainly isn't in the shade. I haven't moved it to my flower bed yet, but I intend to do that soon. From what I have read, it self-seeds and forms a rosette of leaves the first year and blooms the following year. Thanks for stopping by! Happy Gardening . . .
